 The MAKC South Chapter will have a table at the koi pond on the National Arboretum grounds to talk all things koi to visitors!

 I am very sorry to say that I will not be attending the Festival as planned, Sarah Johnson is going in my place. I was recently diagnosed with Lupus and I am physically unable to attend

Kusamono Lecture and Demonstration

Join Kusamono Master Young Choe for an enchanting look at kusamono—small herbaceous plants in pots that are often displayed with bonsai—and learn how to make one yourself.

Japanese Garden Lecture and Tour

1:00 pm to 3:00 pm

Join Philadelphia Garden Designer Sharee Solow for an overview of the distinct Japanese style of gardening. Learn about the key components and philosophy that are married to create stunning gardens in small spaces, then tour an existing Japanese garden to learn how an overgrown example of this fine art can be restored.

Tri-State ZNA Koi and Bonsai Show July 29-30, 2016 Snug Harbor Staten Island NY

The Tri-State ZNA Koi Club will be holding their 5th Annual Koi and Bonsai Show on July 29-30, 2016 at Snug Harbor in Staten Island NY.

On Saturday night, July 30, 2016, will be the Awards Banquet.  If you are interested in attending please let me know.  The tickets are $65.00 per person.

I want to first apologize for not emailing the results of the election sooner.

With the pond season in full swing it has been extremely busy the past couple of weeks with pond emergencies.  I cannot stressthe enough the importance of following the proper quarantine procedures.

This year is going to be very exciting on October 15, 2016 the Club with be help hosting the Japanese festival at the National Arboretum in DC.  The Club with also be hosting the AKCA Annual Meeting and Wet Lab  on  June 23-24, 2017.  This will be a great chance for our members to take a Wet Lab with Dr. Nick Saint-Erne.  Dr. Saint-Erne is one of the top aquatic vets in the US and author of Advanced Koi Care.

Central Chapter Meeting At Quality Koi On Saturday June 11, 2016!

Dear MAKC Members

I would like to personally invite you to our first meeting of the MAKC Central Chapter, on Saturday June 11, 2016 from 10am to 2pm at Quality Koi in Quillytown, NJ.  

Even if you are not looking to purchase fish, experiencing a day at Quality Koi is the perfect way to start the season.   Mat and Jen have graciously opened their doors to MAKC members.   We will be providing lunch for those attending and will have an informal meet and greet to reaffirm acquaintances and make new friends.  Come out and join us for a great meeting!
